Since the time he was young, Jeff has desired to help others dealing with health issues. He combined this desire with his love for science by completing a Ph.D in Immunology from Thomas Jefferson University and his post-doctoral studies at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington where he helped develop state-of-the-art immunotherapies for patients with advanced cancers. During his 12 years as a cancer researcher, Jeff realized that these Western medical approaches were only treating the end stage of a person’s disease and had limited success. He began to explore different modalities of holistic healthcare that focus on helping people before their disease develops.
This path led him to Eastern medicine and its holistic view of how disease and imbalances occur in the body. After experiencing success with Chinese medicine for healing his personal health conditions for which Western medicine offered no relief, he chose to step away from scientific research. He then embarked upon a second life journey to study Classical Chinese Medicine in the 4-year Masters program at National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. He has been practicing Chinese medicine for 4 years, specializing in pain relief, digestive issues, sleep disturbances and anxiety. In addition to Chinese medicine, Jeff has training in myofascial release, shiatsu (Japanese bodywork) and reiki which he often incorporates into his sessions with patients.
