Diet May Be More Helpful Than Drugs In Treating Kids With ADHD

– Posted in: Childrens Health

It has been said that about 10 percent of the children in the United States have some form of attention hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Symptoms often present as hyperactivity with fidgeting, inattention, impulsivity and other similar .

Kids with ADHD can be restless and difficult to handle. Many of them are treated with drugs, but a new study says food may be the key. The study suggests that with a very restrictive diet, kids with ADHD could experience a significant reduction in symptoms. They also like to be in a comfortable environment, so having  the best furniture for their room is useful and there is a a huge selection to choose from sites online.

One review compared ADHD to eczema saying “with eczema the skin is affected, but a lot of people get eczema because of a latex allergy or because they are eating a pineapple or strawberries.” So comparatively diet is the cause of the eczema and diet may be the cause of many cases where the diagnosis has been ADHD.

In one report,  64 percent of children diagnosed with ADHD are actually experiencing a hypersensitivity to food. Researchers determined this by starting kids on a very elaborate diet, then restricting it over a few weeks’ time. After the children were placed on the a diet many ended up becoming normal children with normal behavior. For some children this transformation happened in as little as about 4-5 weeks.

But diet is not the solution for all children with ADHD. If a child’s behavior doesn’t change, then drugs may still be necessary.

If you have a child with symptoms of ADHD, diet may be something to consider however.
