Prepare for your appointment:
- Your first appointment will be 60- 80 minutes.
- Follow up appointments are typically 40-60 minutes depending on the complexity of the case and the modalities utilized.
- It’s best if you wear loose fitting clothes to your acupuncture appointment. You may not have to remove your clothing depending on what we are treating to your level of comfort. We do have sheets to cover you up if it’s required for you to remove your clothing during a session to treat your condition.
A Peek into your Visit:
First, you will likely be by Kendyll, our Rock Star receptionist. She’ll help get your paperwork filled out (if you didn’t complete it ahead of time) and collect all the information for billing your insurance. She’ll also orient you to the office including showing you where the restrooms are located and our tea station. Enjoy a cup of our “Tea of the Day”.
From there you will make yourself comfortable in our waiting room and await one of our Acupuncturists to bring you back to one of our 3 treatment rooms.
Your first appointment will be about 80 minutes depending on how complicated your history is. We will get a thorough background of your health history and ask you questions all acupuncturists ask like “how are your bowel movements?” and “can we see your tongue?”. To come up with a diagnosis according to Chinese medical patterns we need to have a complete picture of your body and the systems.
That being said if you are coming in with acute pain we may skip some of these details so we can quickly get you out of pain and back to your life.
